From Rebirth to the Sky : The Untold Story

The target audience: 8th grade and up, according to the age group, soldiers and adults.

In this study day, we highlight the contribution of aircrew members who survived the Holocaust and served in the Israeli Air Force.
Out of 300 aircrew members who served in the mid-1950s (the days of Operation Kadesh), about 120 Holocaust refugees became pilots, squadron commanders, and base commanders, finding themselves in important decision-making points in the Air Force.
During the study day, the students learn about their life stories during the Holocaust at the end of the war and their becoming aircrew members. The study day combines diverse didactic methods and media. It is based on innovative and groundbreaking research written by Dr. Lea Ganor, director of the Mashmaut Center, University of Haifa, the Herzl Institute, and the Association from Rebirth to the Skies.
