The Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel vists Mashmaut Center

Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel Ms. Slavna Gergova and her diplomatic staff visited Kiryat Motzkin, the municipality and the Mashmaut Center. During the visit, the Ambassador got to know the city, met Holocaust survivors and youth, and possibilities for future cooperation were raised.

The visit of the Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel was led by the Director of Mashmaut center and Foreign Relations at the Municipality, Dr. Lea Ganor. The visit began with a reception at the Mayor's Office by Mayor Deputy Itai Tzoref. During the visit, they discussed the rescue of Bulgarian Jews and the educational activities taking place at the Center to commemorate the event. In addition, discussions were held on future collaborations in various fields such as: education and culture, sports, economy, entrepreneurship and thinking about common ground and creating a twin city in Bulgaria.
Afterwards, the diplomatic delegation went to the Mashmaut Center, where they met with Holocaust survivors of Bulgarian origin, youth from Rabin Junior High-School who are participating in the Youth for Holocaust Remembrance Program in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Director of Society and Youth (directed by Einav Yaniv-Schurtz, and coordinated the program at Mashmaut by Inbal Raz), whose representatives from Rabin School shared their experiences.
Also participating were youth from Yonatan Junio High-School who are studying in the "Young Ambassadors" program. The City band (directed and choreographed by Iris Beit Halevi Schneider and musically directed by Noam Zlatin), delighted with its beautiful singing. The band representative Yochai brought moving things from his experiences in the band.
A Holocaust survivor from Bulgaria, Zvi Natan, who was saved by a Righteous Among the Nations, gave a speech. Deputy Mayor Itai Tzoref and the Bulgarian Ambassador to Israel also gave speeches. In her speech, Dr. Ganor emphasized the importance of creating international educational, cultural and sports connections for the younger generation. The intergenerational meeting at Mashmaut, which included four generations, was moving. The ambassador and the diplomatic team that accompanied her expressed great gratitude and appreciation to the organizers of the visit and came away with ideas for preparing a work plan for the future. The Masmaut Center thanks all the partners who took the time and effort to make the event a success.
