In these challenging days, despite the hardships—sirens, fears, losses, and trauma—the connection we maintain with the world is of great importance. According to the original plan, the director of Mashmaut Center, Dr. Lea Ganor, was to travel to Poland for an in-person launch of the research book Holocaust History, Holocaust Memory in the twin city of Kiryat Motzkin, Radzyń Podlaski, where she was invited to speak about the new publication.
Due to the state of emergency in Israel, the lecture was held via Zoom. Yet, it was met with appreciation and held even greater significance given the current reality.
In her lecture, Dr. Ganor spoke about the book, which was launched a year ago. The book is a study of the history of Polish Jewry and of Jewish life in Poland before, during, and after the Holocaust. It also includes a selection of personal essays reflecting the authors’ individual experiences and perspectives on these subjects. Holocaust History, Holocaust Memory is a unique academic resource for students and researchers of World War II, Jewish and Polish history, and family history. It is also intended for the general public interested in expanding their knowledge in this field.
The Mashmaut Center extends its heartfelt thanks to the dear friends and partners in Radzyń Podlaski who organized this wonderful event, where Dr. Ganor had the honor of being the main speaker. This is how bridges are built—between cities and between people.
