The event was honored by the presence of The Mayor of Kiryat Motzkin, Tsiki Avissar; Ms. Maria York, Representative of the Polish Embassy in Israel; Deputy Mayors and Members of the City Council; Director of the Welfare Department, Maayan Solomon; Representatives of the Municipal Youth Council; “Youth for Holocaust Remembrance” Afek Junior High-School, and teacher Tal Baruch.
At the heart of the evening was the remarkable film Gimpl Tam (Gimpel The Fool) Returns to Poland, a work that has received numerous international awards. We were honored to host the film’s creator, director and actor Howard Rip, who attended the screening and deeply moved us with his presence.
Gimpl’s journey on screen, together with Howard’s reflections in the fascinating discussion that followed, touched the most delicate strings of the soul. Not a single eye remained dry when members of the Municipal Youth Council, guided by Einav Lustigman, participated in the post-screening discussion – we are proud of our youth.
This evening once again proved that even decades later, memory remains alive, vibrant, and unifying us as a community and as a nation.
Thank you to all partners and guests who took part in this meaningful evening.
