Carrying the Torch of Memory: Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026 in Kiryat Motzkin

As part of the events marking Holocaust Remembrance Day, a moving visits were held in the homes of Holocaust survivors aged 100 and above, alongside a special tribute ceremony for the torch lighters at Mashmaut Center. These events highlight the deep commitment to preserving memory and passing it on from generation to generation.

As part of the commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day 2026, heartfelt visits took place in the homes of Holocaust survivors aged 100 and above. During these visits, certificates of appreciation were presented, accompanied by soldiers and students from Mashmaut Center, as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for the survivors life stories, resilience, and many years of contribution.
A special tribute ceremony for the torch lighters was later held, during which a medal was awarded by Eti Katan from the Authority for the Rights of Holocaust Survivors, along with a commemorative gift. The ceremony took place in the presence of Mayor Tziki Avisar, Deputy Mayor Gandi Dozartzev, Head of the Community Department Michal Tuvia, Volunteer Coordinator Adi Pinto, representatives of the Welfare Department led by Maayan Solomon, Ira – Head of the Absorption Department, participants of the ceremony that was broadcast the previous evening, teacher Shifra Kevin Mashmaut Center Stuff, and many guests.
The event marked a powerful moment of honor, remembrance, and appreciation, connecting different generations around the stories of Holocaust survivors and the significance of memory for Israeli society as a whole.
