An international zoom meeting with the mayors of twin cities and friends of Kiryat Motzkin and the Mishmaat Center as part of Kiryat Motzkin’s foreign relations to mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the fight against anti-Semitism as a sign of a call for the release of 136 abductees who are in subhuman conditions in Gaza held by Hamas terrorists.

The meeting, which took place under the direction of Dr. Leah Ganor, director of the Mashmaut Center, was attended by representatives and mayors of cities and districts from Germany, Poland and Hungary.
The conference opened with Ganor’s words with the important message: “Not to forget what happened to the Jewish people in the Holocaust and to fight anti-Semitism everywhere, this is the essence of our existence and being humans and fighting for the return of the abducted. International Holocaust Remembrance Day reminds us that only 79 years ago was the Auschwitz camp liberated, too late. Now we have to act immediately so that it is not too late.
Gad Finali, a resident of the city who was born in France and survived the Holocaust as a child under a borrowed identity as a Christian, spoke at the meeting. His parents were murdered in Auschwitz and after the war his aunt fought to return him and his brother to Judaism. The affair of the Finali brothers caused a great interest in the first decade of the state. Gad shared his story with those present. And asked “not to forget the Holocaust and humanity, everything must be done to bring the abductees home.”
deputy mayor Adi Sternberg greeted those present and thanked them for their solidarity at this difficult time. Student council chairman Ort Motzkin Yair Reutman presented the message of the youth these days.
The mayors of the district cities and our friends from Poland, Germany, and Hungary presented their work and actions in their city in commemorating the Holocaust, Jewish history and their hope for the release of the abductees. The Polish representative told about the work of Alex Danzig, historian from Nir Oz who was kidnapped to Gaza among Polish youths and their hope for his release. There is no land left for this exciting encounter.
