A festive gathering for the Hanukkah holiday with Holocaust survivors took place on Tuesday (12/5) at the Mashmaut Center. In the midst of a harsh reality of war, Holocaust survivors and many youngsters gathered for a Hanukkah celebraation of light and hope.

The special meeting was attended by junior high school students: Rabin and Yonatan (Kiryat Motzkin), Rodman and Rabin (Kiryat Yam), Afek and Dafna (Kiryat Bialik), Rogozin A-B (Kiryat Ata), teenagers and school coordinators, volunteers of the Youth for Holocaust Remembrance Program which operates on behalf of Ministry of Education under the management of Einav Yaniv-Shurtz, the coordinator of the program at the Ministry of Education Betty Danon, Inbal Raz and the director of the mashmaut center Dr. Lea Ganor.

Not a single eye was left dry to see the exciting generations combination that included a special performance for the holiday by the volunteer actor Gil Danino together with the director of the youth department Ziva Bersau. A performance by the young singer Lian Biran and volunteers of the “Connected” program Ort Motzkin and the youth unit.

A special thanks goes to the Confectionery “Shani” who donated respectable refreshments and MDA volunteers who brought donuts.

In the meeting that started with the lighting of candles and speeches by Mayor Haim Tzuri, we sang and prayed together for the quick return of the abductees home, for the peace of the soldiers and we wished a full recovery for the wounded men and women.
