International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025: Municipal-Educational Delegation to Poland
A unike municipal-educational delegation went out for Poland to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp and the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, led by Mayor Tsiki Avisar and Arik Mugerman, Director of Mashmaut Center Dr. Lea Ganor and her deputy Inbal Raz, Hana Oren, and Director of junior high school Yonatan School, Dr. Keren Bavli.

The municipal delegation conducted friendship tours throughout Poland and visited the POLIN Museum in Warsaw, where it met with the museum's deputy director, Yolanda Gomola, for a fascinating conversation about preserving and commemorating Jewish heritage in Poland. Afterwards, the delegation arrived at the nearby Rappaport Memorial.

In the municipal library, it was moving to see the memorial plaque commemorating the Jews community who were murdered in the Holocaust. At a meeting of the heads of the delegation with the mayor and the head of the district, it was agreed to promote a program for teachers exchange delegations and students between the cities, and teams from both cities will be appointed to promote the project.
