On an exciting and special day, the team of Mashmaut Center arrived at the home of Sarah, who was born 100 years ago (December 1921) in Beltz and survived the Holocaust by wandering on the Ural Mountains, and celebrated her birthday.
The director of the Mashmaut Center, Dr. Lea Ganor, spoke with Sarah in Yiddish and read her the poem about the town of Beltz in Yiddish. Sara speaks Hebrew, English, Yiddish and Russian. The excitement was great.
It is a great privilege for us to be in contact with Holocaust survivors in Kiryat Motzkin, it`s a great value of discovering that there are 100-year-old survivors in our city. This is the third time in 2021 that we celebrate the 100th birthday of Holocaust survivors.
