The German Ambassador visit to Kiryat Motzkin was led by the Director of Mashmaut Center and Foreign Relations at the Motzkin Municipality, Dr. Lea Ganor, and began with a special reception of first-grade children from The Ben Gurion School, led by school's principal, Suzy, and the teachers. In the municipality the Ambassador was presented with a special art exhibition created especially to mark the 60th anniversary of Israel-Germany relations by students of the Rabin Junior High-School in Motzkin, led by the school's principal, Liora Hagin, and art teachers.

After an introductory meeting at the city hall with Mayor Tziki Avisar, the ambassador and the embassy staff arrived at the "Golda" park for a memorial ceremony next to the Holocaust Memorial donated by Ora and Yaakov Gilboa in the presence of their son Nir Gilboa, where the mayor and the German ambassador also planted a tree as a sign of friendship and growth. 

The highlight of the visit took place at the Mashmaut Center, where the ambassador met with Holocaust survivors, including Blanka Nachlieli from the city of Graz (Austria), who spoke in German. As well as students from schools in Motzkin participating in the Youth Program for Holocaust Remembrance, including students from Rabin Junior High-School led by Michal Twizer. The meeting was also attended by students of the Diplomacy major from the Yonatan Junior High-School, under the direction of keren bavely, the volunteers of Mashmaut, and the general public.

The phrase "Remember the past, live the present, and believe in the future" is more than a slogan, but a work plan that at Mashmaut we work to fulfill day after day, year after year.
